I'm afraid you just have to accept the parking restrictions (meant to keep pesky VCU students from over-running Fan neighborhoods with their cars during classes). As you saw by the gigantic crowd, parking doesn't deter anyone from such a fun evening! I head straight to Meadow and just enjoy the four block walk back to Balliceaux. Hope to meet you out one of these nights!Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04610823643625979862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792662252069133648.post-89484663709863467742015-01-14T10:38:16.333-05:002015-01-14T10:38:16.333-05:00I went for the first time on Monday night and love...I went for the first time on Monday night and loved it. I will definitely plan on going back in March for "Exile". Parking was a pain, ended up near Park and Meadow. What are businesses to do, with restrictions like 1 hour parking until 9.
I still love reading your blog, but have yet to venture out by myself, just yet. Baby steps. I did go out on a rainy Monday night.

MelissaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792662252069133648.post-41348917931237827332015-01-13T19:07:02.160-05:002015-01-13T19:07:02.160-05:00Mute horses aside, Richmond knows how to show a fe...Mute horses aside, Richmond knows how to show a fellow a good time! I truly did enjoy the folks at Secretly Y’all and the venue.

I wanted so badly to eat at Balliceaux… I walked by this table on my way in - there was a plate with wonderful looking scallops on it and I wanted to sit down and partake of the dual-valve mollusks.

I was running late…

I'm not really familiar with that area of Richmond...

It was raining and dark and my talking thing for my phone did not understand what I meant when I said “Lombardy Street” or “Balliceaux.” Eventually, I pulled over and typed it in my phone.

My map thing on my phone took me right there…

Then my problems continued… I could not find a place to park… It was raining and dark… So I drove around for a while and landed in front of a Lowe’s about a mile away and headed in what I thought was the correct direction.

I stopped to ask this fellow in the middle of one of those Frenchy roundabout intersections if I was going the right way…. He was on a horse and did not answer… He seemed to have something on his mind…

I wasn’t sure if he heard me, but I didn’t want to get too close because his horse had its tail sticking up in the air, thus I didn’t want to get hit with anything…

Finally, I found it. The Balliceaux place was wonderful, the Secretly Y’all folks were wonderful, the stories were wonderful, sitting on the front row with you and the other nice lady was wonderful.

You could say it was a wonderful night.

Now the next day, I read where I speak in “honey-dripping tones…” That gets to a fellow when he reads such things.

Next time, I will come really early and pay someone to drop me off at the front door.

I will leave you with this, "a good man on a good horse can never be caught – nor will he help you with directions".
Brenthttp://www.cranksmytractor.com/noreply@blogger.com
